There’s good news and bad news it appears. The good news, is that your business is growing by leaps and bounds. Sales is breaking all time records, and the potential for huge profits has never been better. The bad news is, you don’t have enough skilled staff to get the work done, customers are running out of patience, and all those potential profits are going down the drain. It’s time to realize, that your no longer working for a living, your actually running a business. Running a business means making decisions, that you never had to, or knew how to when you were someone’s employee. It’s time to get serious and bring in the big guns.
That doesn’t mean you have to hire full time staff, and turn from the doer into the manager you always hated. A more flexible, cheaper, and nimble alternative is outsourcing. Or basically, hiring contractors to do the work. At least that’s what we used to call it. While you may have your own personal core competencies, I’m sure there are a few things that could be left to the experts. After all, just because your a great architect, doesn’t mean you should be designing and marketing your own website. You could outsource SEO work for instance, and spend a bit more time on planning for the next fiscal year. SEO is a tricky, constantly changing business, and it makes sense to leave it to experts. A growing company, si a good problem to have actually, what’s really important, is how you deal with it.
